Location and crowd-report privacy
PujaWay uses location only when you ask for nearby pandals, routes, or restaurants. Your exact GPS coordinates are not printed on the restaurant page, sold, shared for advertising, or stored as location history.
Location searches
With your permission, the browser sends your current latitude and longitude in a private request body to the PujaWay backend for the active nearby search. The backend sends the search center to Google Places, briefly counts searches in a coarse area for cost control, and does not save an exact-location history. If permission is denied, you can select a Kolkata area or pandal manually.
Anonymous crowd reports
A report stores the Google restaurant Place ID, the selected crowd level, and a server timestamp. To limit duplicates, a random browser token and the request network address are separately converted into one-way, restaurant-scoped hashes; raw tokens and network addresses are not stored. Reports and these abuse-prevention hashes expire after 90 days. We do not ask for or store your name, phone number, email address, or exact GPS position with a crowd report.
Estimated, not exact
Crowd levels appear only when enough recent community evidence exists. They are estimates, may be outdated, and are never presented as an exact number of customers or guaranteed real-time occupancy.
Google Maps information
Restaurant names, addresses, ratings, opening information, photos, and map links may be supplied by Google Maps Platform. Google processes requests under its own Privacy Policy.
